Sockets Redesign Exercise: Presentations and Discussion

We will use this class to present and discuss your designs for a new set of kernel calls to manage network communication. Here is a quick summary of how the discussion will be organized:

• Each team will have 10-12 minutes to present their design. There will be time for a few minutes of discussion after each presentation, and we should have 15-20 minutes for extended discussion after all of the presentations.
• Please come prepared with slides for your presentation. Your slides should include the following information:
  • What you like and don't like about the current sockets kernel calls
  • What you were trying to achieve with your new design(s)
  • A summary of the new APIs you designed
  • A short discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of those APIs

The presentations will be in the following order:
