Nirmal Jayaram
Nirmal Jayaram is a member of Professor Jack W. Baker's research group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. Nirmal is interested in computational research revolving around seismic risk modeling of complex infrastructure systems and probabilistic modeling in Civil Engineering. Since statistical analyses play an integral role in his research projects, Nirmal is also currently pursuing a Master's degree in the Department of Statistics.
Nirmal joined Stanford University after completing his Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and Masters degree in Infrastructure engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He worked on reliability estimation of water distribution networks as part of his graduate research work.

03/04/2010: Nirmal Jayaram received the "Best Presentation Award" for his presentation on "Ground-motion selection for the PEER Transportation Research Program" at the 7th CUEE and 5th ICEE conference, Tokyo. The related conference paper can be downloaded here.

09/09/2009: Nirmal Jayaram was invited to present his research project in a poster at a Young Researcher Session held in conjunction with the 2009 PEER Annual Meeting and the 3rd International Conference on Advances in Experimental Structural Engineering.
07/01/2009: Nirmal Jayaram gave a talk at the TCLEE2009 Conference: Lifeline Earthquake Engineering in a Multihazard Environment in Oakland, California.
