My research focuses on how lateral and residual circulation affect geochemical distributions in coastal estuaries. Specific areas of interest include seasonal variability in estuarine dynamics, how currents mediate microbial sediment processes, low-inflow estuaries, and the physics and policy of estuarine restoration. My research is focused in Elkhorn Slough, California.

I work with Stephen Monismith in the Environmental Fluid Mechanics Lab at Stanford University.

My work is generously supported by the National Science Foundation and the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Foundation.
