My research focuses on how lateral and residual circulation affect geochemical distributions in coastal estuaries. Specific areas of interest include sediment transport, the role of hydrodynamics in estuarine fluxes, and ocean-estuarine coupling. My research is focused in Elkhorn Slough, California.
I work with Stephen Monismith in the Environmental Fluid Mechanics Lab at Stanford University.
My work is generously supported by the National Science Foundation and the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Foundation.
If you work in an estuary in California, you should join the California Estuarine Research Society. Post a copy of this annoucement (pdf - 2.2 MB) for our upcoming meeting in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, April 26-29, 2008.
