I am a graduate student at Stanford University studying high energy physics as part of the Gratta Research Group. My experiment, SAUND, looks for ultra-high energy neutrinos acoustically in the Bahamas(!). The experiment is running at a military site called AUTEC, which is part of NUWC. My experiment has nothing to do with military applications, and I am not funded by the DoD. I swear that I picked to work on this experiment because I was interested in the physics and not the free trips to the Bahamas. My experiment is located on Andros Island, the biggest island of the Bahamas, and the snorkeling is great!
