Premonitions
review, chosen for Top Picks in IMPACT
Press
by Chris Lupton
San Francisco's
process23 harkens back to the sounds of 80's British alternative.
Co-founder Matt Jobin's jangling guitar work is dripping in reverb
while partner Tina Noyes provides some melodic bass lines reminiscent
of the style of New Order's Peter Hook. The results are quite good,
with hints of the Jesus and Mary Chain and the Cure lurking as well
in these 10 well-crafted songs.

Premonitions
review in Smother.Net
by J-Sin
Process23 is
a female/male songwriting duo from the nation up north Canada. They
bring to the table a new fresh appeal that is strong songwriting
encased in an indie/emo outer shell. But this will melt in your
mind not in your hand. There are too many layers at times to digest
them all at once, which of course compel you to give this a repeated
listen. Don’t worry you’ll be hooked from the get-go
and won’t be disappointed down the road. Great music.

An
interview with process23 conducted by Brad Bugos of Silly Little
Trouser Monkeys
Premonitions
review in Silly
Little Trouser Monkeys
by Dickey Twobits (excerpts, go to their website
to read full version)
Here is a band
that knows that the first song needs to interest a listener, give
them an idea of what the band sounds like and make them want to
hear more. Pretty dang good for an indie band I have never heard
of, and lately some of the crap that has been sent to this office
just makes you think that maybe there are no more hidden gems to
be found out there. We will see with this band, if it's good for
the whole disc, but so far pretty good..." "Wow, now this
band is really starting to surprise me, I like the mood and atmosphere..."
"I am going to stop and just say that this disc has been a
bright spot for me, in the music reviewing landscape. It's got a
lot to offer a listener, with songs ranging from a techno beat,
driving and pounding, to a surf instrumental, a Robyn Hitchcock
ripoff and other songs that remind me of early to mid eighties British
alternative rock bands. I just don't think as a music lover your
going to go to far wrong with this one, it's interesting and diverse
and entertaining, what more could you ask from a band you have never
heard of?

Magazine
by Katie Kiedyk
No its not the White Stripes - but like them this male/female songwriting
duo, originally from Canada and now residing in San Francisco, is
producing ground-breaking music. The band is Process23 and the album
is Premonitions. Premonitions is full of poetic
lyrics and stirring melodies-with Matt Jobin’s jangling guitar
style and Tina's melodic bass lines with a touch of harmonics. Self
described as being part of the realm of "indie-emoish-grooving-feeling-kinda
thingy," I think the band hit the nail right on the head. Not
to mention that the songs are so frickin catchy! What I Am,
for example reminded me of a poppy ride through outer space, while
Spacetime and Substance, is much more emo driven. The cd
will hold your attention and keep you dancin’ through all
ten tracks, leaving me with "premonitions" that this isn’t
the last I will be hearing of Process23.

Premonitions
review on CDStreet
by David Kennerly
Rating: 10/10
Premonitions has a smooth sound and smart lyrics. If you like modern
North American music but never had a taste for mindless pop culture,
then you might find yourself coming back to process23 again and
again. Take a trip from the haunting loneliness and love in what
i am, to the melody in dancing in someone else's feet,
to the unpretentious dead-on rebelsong, to the dazy bedroom
nation. Sounds good. Stays good. Premonitions is all
a new CD should try to be. It is process23.

And
the bad...
Premonitions
review in the Spartan Daily
By Mark Cornejo
The album is
worth listening to just for the instrumental, but unless bands such
as Radiohead or The Jesus and Mary Chain are one's style, it's most
likely going to be a waste of time.
[Mark seems
to intend this as an insult.. however we consider it a compliment
:) ]
