Most of the churches in Venice sadly don't allow photography inside. This is one of the very few we visited that did. Italian gothic looks very different from Northern European gothic, with many fewer and smaller windows, so they are generally much darker; this was one of the brightest ones we saw. (Maybe because the sunlight is so much rarer, dimmer and cooler in northern latitudes, you try to let in all the sunlight you can?)
