The Palazzo Pubblico in Siena has a tower (from the 1300's) one can climb, with a great view of the main square of Siena, Il Campo. (The Museo Civico in the Palazzo also has some wonderful artwork, especially the room with frescoes from 1338 of "Allegories of Good and Bad Government", well worth seeing.)
