Moorea is a volcanic island with many lovely pointy jungle-clad peaks, surrounded by a mostly shallow lagoon (full of fish) within a barrier reef. You can't ask for a better place to go kayaking. (This was a shallow sandy-bottom bit of the lagoon, very pretty; other areas were full of darker corals and fish.)
