Norway #1

Trollstigen pass, Norway

The pass above "Trollstigen" (which means "Troll's Ladder", named for the extremely steep switchbacked mountainside highway just the other side of the pass). We saw it shortly after the road opened for the summer season, with stripes of snow still on the ground, and with noone else around. Under those conditions, it was one of the most stunning places we've ever seen. (Even better since we weren't expecting it - we thought we were going to just be on some random highway from Geiranger to Aandalsnes! This is apparently not what passes for a major tourist site in Norway, surprisingly enough...)
