The homepage starts with a flash intro, picking two images randomly from a folder to juxtapose. At the bottom are spots for featured events and a spotlight. Navigation has a secondary hover to the left.
Events are posted by respective organizations to Events at Stanford, then pulled into our calendar via xml.
The gallery features faculty, visiting artists, students, and other projects and programs. The gallery is run on a database, and content is added using a system of templates.
Featured artists are listed with graphic banners by date. Artists are added to a category, which is then archived and searchable.
Artists have a rich media section to display their work as well as a text section where SiCa may write an article or artist bio.
The site explains the Stanford Arts Initiative, its leaders, projects and programs, and relation to the Stanford Challenge.
A directory of arts organizations, programs, and departments allows each program a hyperlink and short quote or summary which appears in the right pane on hover.
Community members visiting the site may learn about volunteer and giving opportunities, on campus events, and the Cantor Arts Center museum.
The SiCa subsite goes into detail on projects, programs, and events administrated by SiCa.
Students, faculty, and staff may apply for SiCa grants online.
Grant forms are protected via Stanford's web-authentication, and open in a separate window.
Each of SiCa's three centers are given their own disctinctive page. Here you see the Center for Arts, Science and Technology. Derivative sites, such as http://musicandthebrain.stanford.edu are linked to from here.
