Sept 15th-16th 2007 - Valley with Wyatt
Kicked off the Valley season in fine style with Wyatt.
Saturday: a eclectic assortment. Checked out Vanishing Point up in Sentinel Creek, which was splendid. Then to the Cream area, the "bizarre approach" a Reid understatement, but as he indicates also well worth it. Both of us had a go at Energy Crisis, with Wyatt whipping somewhat higher than me. Then Wyatt led Jam Session, the following of which was supposed to get me in shape for Sunday.
Sunday: Rostrum. Durbs and I had gotten bouted a while back. Wyatt had done it before, and was interested in leading the odd-numbered pitches, having led the evens last time. Everything was going splendidly until we got to the OW, which was my lead, at which point it became junkshow central - I beefed the face traverse, super-beefed the steep part of the wide, whimpered up the rest of it with the 5 camalot well above my head. Not a strong showing. It was to be the only blemish on an otherwise cruise ascent - that is, if you don't count me making Wyatt lead the final wide pitch.
Weekend complete with a Hristo and Alex sighting - they completed the impressive Rostrum/Hotline bifecta. Hardmen!
