About this site
Social Network Advisor started in May 2007 as a resource for social network clients and developers. This site’s mission is to fulfill the following goals:
- Provide users of social networking sites and their parents and caretakers with a balanced perspective and complete breakdown of site safety and use
- Provide developers and investors with a collection of resources about the effectiveness of social networking features and evolution of social views of these websites
- Introduce the social and ethical intricacies of social networking to anyone interested
- Analyze these topics from a communicative and social perspective, an web design and interactivity perspective, and a legal and ethical perspective.
The scope of this site’s content has its limitations. This site currently seeks to analyze English-based social networking sites that serve users in the United States. It focuses on sites that have been the most popular or gotten the most attention in 2006-2007. Social Network Advisor is not meant to endorse any particular sites, but rather make recommendations based on specific client needs.
