Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur Nudibranchs

This page has most of the nudibranchs I saw from Moss Landing to Point Sur. At least the ones I could get a photo. I wrote location, date and depth of the dives to give some idea of where to find some of the more localized slugs, like the tochnis. It is very far from being in any way representative for most of them.
Clinton Bauder's www.metridium.com has most local nudibranchs, I identified most of the unusual slugs with it. David Behrens Pacifica coast nudibranchs is the indispensable book. I also added links to the sea slug forum maintained by Bill Rudman of the Australian Museum. Nudibranch identification is an art I very partially master, if you find some gross error in this page please have some indulgence and drop me a mail.

Abbreviations and personal names
BW = Monterey breakwater (coast guard pier)
AF = Anchor Farm (general area around the actual spot in the deep shalebeds)
BB = Ball Buster
Canyon Lands = area of the canyons South of Outer Pinnacle (from 80' to 200'+)
Deep Outer Pinnacles = area South of Outer Pinnacle (200'+)
Deep East Pinnacles = area S of East Pinnacle (100' to 200'+)
