Dec 21st, 2012 - Thanks to anonymous donor for supporting our work on Foldscope.
In christmas spirit, we heartfully thank all the supporting agencies this year.

Dec 19th, 2012 - Our lab just got funding from the Spectrum foundation to support our work on novel vector survillence tools.
Congrats Hari on a great presentation.

Dec 15th-19, 2012 - Jim, Hari, Nimit and Manu will attend American Society of Cell Biology annual meeting in San Francisco.
Jim will present his poster on Foldscope in science education session. We will have microscopes for people to play with.

Dec 12th, 2012 - Manu will be presenting at the seminar series at Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale on Dec 12th, 2012.
He will share the lab's latest results in physical organismic biology and our efforts in making scientific tools available to the masses. The talk is titled "Hydraulic constraints on life: Feeding, flight and other amusements in science."

Dec 8th, 2012 - Lab's annual Christmas party is set for December 8th this year. We will celebrate the coming of Christmas with Dumont Lab members at 88 King St, San Francisco.

Nov 30, 2012 - Best wishes to Jim Cybulski for his triathalon. Go jim.

Nov 18th, 2012 - Manu, James, Yorgos and George leave for San diego for American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics.
Shuold be a great meeting. Talks by Yorgos, George and Manu. Looking forward to seeing all our old friends.. We are back from San Diego. Had a fantastic visit. The talks were very well received.

Oct 20th, 2012 - Congrats Yorgos for passing your PhD Quals exam. Well done!!

Oct 20th, 2012 - Congrats Haripriya for winning the best poster award at the Stanford BioEngineering 2012 retreat held at beautiful Santa Cruz resort.
The lab also had the most number of posters at the retreat (seven in total). Our kinkos bill usually runs high. Great job everyone who presented.

Oct 12th, 2012 - Manu gave a seminar at UC Merced Physics seminar series.
A delightful day at the Natural Sciences department at UC Merced.

A day filled with shopbots and flames, electrocution and some ice cream.

May 2nd, 2012 - Manu is named one of the two 2012 Baxter Faculty Scholar.
Thanks to the Donald E. and Delia B. Baxter Foundation board. The presentation was a lot of fun.

April 19th, 2012 - Prakash Lab wins both the Vodafone wireless innovation challange and the United Nations Foundation mHealth Award.
Congrats James and Dhruv. The grant was based on our earlier field work in India and Thailand.

April 11th, 2012 - Thibaut Bardon arrives at PrakashLab as a summer intern from Ecole Polytechnique, Paris.
A warm welcome Thibaut.

Sept20, 2011 - Hannah Rosen (Stanford Biology) joins as a lab rotation student.
Hannah is Hopkins Marine Station graduate student spening a year in our lab. Welcome Hannah.

Sept 20, 2011 - Manu was selected as a Terman Fellow for three years.
The fellowships were established by William Hewlett and David Packard, to aid young scientists with establishing their laboratories. The fellowships are a tribute to Frederick E. Terman, one of the mentors for Hewlett and Packard.

Sept 10th-22nd, 2011 - PrakashLab goes for the first field trip to India (Vellore, Bangalore) and Thailand. What a trip!!
Highlights included stops and meetings at Achira, Remidio, Christian Medical College, Vellore, Rural Unit of Health and Social Affairs (RUSHA), Thailand Ministry of Public Health, AFRIMS, Mahidol and Chulalongkorn University. Manu presented at several stops including Mahidol University and Chulalongkorn University.Lots of open brainstorming sessions. See pictures for details.
