Results and Statistics of Survey #1!
In the spirit to provide better service to our young users, Urskin.com conducted its #1 skin-care survey and the statistics is posted below. In this survey, we collected about 50 set of answers through Email lists from students at Stanford University. The survey consists of four main questions.
1.Are you satisfied with your skin condition?(Yes/Sort of/No)
10% Yes
70% Sort of
20% No
From the information above, we can see that the skin condition among college students is not very satisfactory. In the people who says "No", 60% are girls.
2.What is your favorite and most reliable skin-care product at this moment?
a.Brand:
b.Function or full name: (e.g.cleanser,sunscreen..)
A lot of boys left their answers blank. But some of them also could give very specific answers. This means that some boys are quite concernd of their skin and have taken actions to improve their skin situation. Most of girls have some brands in mind and most of their favorite products fall into the category of "Acne treatment" or "moisturizer". Most popular brand is" Neutrogena".
3.Where do you get skin-care product information?
a.Shopping Center
b.Internet (which website?)
c.Friends and other related people
d.Magazines
e.others (please specify)
Boys tend to choose Sisters, friends or shopping center while girls tend to choose mother, dermatologists and magazines. Popular magazines include: InStyle, Vogue and Seventeen. There is a considerably big portion of people who are willing to buy high quality products at high prize (>$30).
It is also a surprising and happy thing to know that young people visit dermatologists to take care of their skin these days.
4.Do you believe in a "this is a breakout skin-care product" advertisement?
a.Not at all.
b.It might be attractive if I have targeted problems
c.Always, I am a super shopper
d.maybe, coz I still cannot find anything satisfactory
e.I DONT CARE
Only 2% people answers I DONT CARE. Almost 90% of people chose either passive answers or not very sure what to choose and the rest of them are Super Shoppers. This shows that people are very into the skin-care issue nowadays.
From the result, many people seem to be tired of trying new products and they haven't found really great products yet. People become more rational at buying things these days and they'd rather use very conventional and conservative means to do skin care like doing daily wash and eating modestly.
Through this survey, we can perceive that the way to provide better skin-care service to young people is to give more straight-forward and reliable skin-care and shopping guide information. The idea of "online clinic" will also be a promising way since around 30 percent of people had consulted with dermatologists before and we belive more people will be happy to receive professional consulting if it is efficient and affordable.
