Hi, you have reached Jan's place in cyberspace. After finishing my PhD with Sebastian Doniach at Stanford, I have moved to the Netherlands and I am now a post doc in the group of Nynke Dekker at the Technical University of Delft. On this page, you will find some information about my research and publications, as well some pictures, links, and things I do for fun.
A few words about myself: I was born in Frankfurt, Germany, subsequently growing up a
little north of that, in Kassel. After
serving my country for a year working as a paramedic, I studied physics
and economics in Heidelberg,
Uppsala and Champaign-Urbana.
For my PhD in physics at Stanford, I worked with Sebastian Doniach, Daniel Herschlag, and Vijay Pande
on biomolecular simulations and experiments.
Apart from science, I like traveling and sports,
well, and actually quite a few other things.
By the way, the picture below shows me near
Point Lobos, on the
Californian coast.
