How to get a quilt to bring to a visitee
The Beth Am Women and Friends Helping Healing Hands project has resulted in a supply of pillows, afghans, and quilts available to bring on bikur cholim visits within the Beth Am community. Use these as ice-breakers for first visits "I would like to bring you something -- would you mind if I dropped by briefly to bring you..." or bring an item if your visitee is going through something challenging. Be sure to mention that they communicate the support of the whole community, especially Beth Am Women.
- To get some ideas of what is available peruse the inventory page
- The items are stored in bins across from Rabbi Marder's office.
- There is a book on top of the bins with two things to note.
- In the front of the book list the number of the item, your name, and the initials of the visitee (the name of the visitee is confidential, but using initials will cut down on the same person receiving multiple items).
- Finally, in the back of the book where the items are documented with pictures and numbers, find the number of the item you chose and mark it as "given"
