Thanks to the generous support of IPAM, I had the opportunity to spend a week in UCLA.
I find it somewhat curious that Cornell, Berkeley and UCLA (and probably a whole bunch of other schools as well) all chose bears as their mascots. But I guess one would have to admit that the Bruins picked the most fearsome breed.
Royce Hall UCLA's best known landmark. It has been featured in a host of Hollywood productions and, according to an unofficial map of UCLA steam tunnels, it also houses the entrance to the infamous underground bridge.
