Codes used in Pathway
Easement Spreadsheet
This note
describes data fields and codes used in the Pathway Easement
Spreadsheet. There is an overview memo available
too.
There is
one line in the spreadsheet for each easement, so properties with more than one
easement have multiple entries. Each easement description contains the
following fields.
Section(s): the section or sections of the map
where the easement is located, designated by A1,
through D4.
APN: Parcel number of the property. If it is blank, this is an address from
the map that had no associated parcel number in the database, to be resolved
later.
Address: the numeric street address or owner
abbreviation. Note that undeveloped
properties generally do not have a number.
For the numerous properties that belong to various utilities or
governmental bodies, the following abbreviations are used.
BAC Bay Area Cellular
CA State of
California
CWS California Water Service
Company
GTE GTE Mobilnet
MROS Mid-peninsula Regional Open Space

PG&E Pacific Gas and Electric Company
PHWD Purissima Hills Water District

Town Town of Los Altos Hills
Street: the name of the street.
Width: numbers here represent the width of
the easement in feet. ÒCÓ means that the easement covers a large area, ÒFÓ means the easement covers the full width of the
private road, ÒHÓ means it is on half of the road, ÒUÓ means it is unspecified.
Location: says where the easement is located
on the property. Compass points
specify that the easement is located along the specified boundary. For example, ÒNÓ means that the easement
is along the North boundary of the property. If a road name is given then the easement
is immediately adjacent to the right of way of the named road. If a road name is preceded by ÒnearÓ or
ÒbyÓ then the easement roughly parallels the road but is separated from
it. ÒInteriorÓ means that there are
easements on all sides of the property that are away from the road. For arrows indicating general planned
routes, the format is <location> - <direction>. For example, ÒNE corner – SWÓ
specifies an arrow in the northeast corner of the property pointing southwest.
