Welcome
Uugh, it's 2010 already and the year hasn't started particularly well, my friends. Here's to hoping that all the bad stuff is out of the way and that the rest will be a cake walk ... unlikely, of course. Sandrine and I are currently enjoying our baby daughter Ella Alix. No, not for dinner, silly; being around her is pretty enjoyable most of the time, my brain tells me, and my brain wouldn't lie to me, now would it? Hard to imagine what life was like before her arrival. Things will get interesting in a hurry when both Sandrine and I will return to work and Ella will spend her days locked up in a closet, I mean, nearby daycare. Let's hope that there won't be too much crying and screaming ... by her father; pretty sure Ella will be glad to be handled by professionals for a while rather than by her no-good parents.
Oh, I am Carsten, by the way. Dr. Langrock for you, of course, unless we are in Germany, in which case I would get sued and thrown into prison for impersonating a Dr. I was born in Düsseldorf, the capital of Nordrhein-Westfalen. Cologne (that's Köln, for those in the know) is one of our neighboring cities, a city whose inhabitants real Düsseldorfer pitty for their lack of taste and pitiful beer. If you appreciate beer (and, come on, who doesn't), swing by Düsseldorf one of these days and check out our Altstadt, you won't regret it. I am currently working as a research associate at Stanford University in California in Prof. Martin Fejer's research group. If you are looking for somebody relatively clever to work in your (soon to be successful and) awesome company, don't hesitate to contact me. The picture on the right-hand side shows our baby daughter Ella, the joy of our lives.
Things have not only changed in our personal lives, but also for my wife Sandrine's professional one. She no longer works for ONStor. Shocker, I know. Her company was recently acquired by LSI. Please have a look at LSI's website, "a leading provider of innovative silicon, systems and software technologies that enable products which seamlessly bring people, information and digital content together" (according to their aforementioned website). Unlike ONStor, LSI is actually a publicly traded company, so feel free to buy plenty of their stocks to drive up the price, Sandrine will appreciate it.
