Path to Stanford

I grew up in New Hampshire, and got a math degree from UNH. Not wanting to be an actuary upon graduation, I did some unix systems administration for a while, until I returned to school for a Masters in philosophy from Tufts University.

I got my PhD from the University of Michigan philosophy department
