SOME FEATURES OF GRANT TRACKER®
Flexibility. One important new feature of Grant Tracker is that the accounts, categories and subcategories that are preprogrammed can now be modified or deleted, and new accounts, categories and subcategories can be added. This gives the user complete flexibility, and makes Grant Tracker adaptable for any type of grant, large or small.
Simplicity. Just enter the amount for each award item from your grant (e.g., Salary, Travel, Equipment) into its named account in Grant Tracker (e.g., Salary, Travel, Equipment) as the "Opening Balance". Then enter the expenses as they occur in these accounts, and Grant Tracker immediately calculates and displays your balances. It is that simple!
Entries. Individual deposits or payments can be as much as $9,999,999.99.
Personnel. Unlimited entries.
Many Different Reports and Graphs.
Password Control (optional).
NO NEED TO WAIT! Start using Grant Tracker in the middle of the grant year.
The Search routines allow you to find your expenses in any category (e.g., travel, reprints, service contracts); to find a given purchase order by number; to search for orders that are paid for or not; to search for specific items ordered, or for a specific vendor.
The Manual for Grant Tracker teaches you how to set up your grant accounts, and also how to reconcile the accounts each month with the expenditure statement from your institution.
The Manual is written for people with NO experience in accounting.
The Manual contains the following Chapters.
Introduction, Getting Started, Enter Data First Time, Accounting Tips, Reconciling Monthly Expenditure Statements, How to Handle a Continuation Year on a Grant, Reports and Graphs, Subject Index.
A Sample Data file for a grant is included to speed up the learning process.
Multiple Grants. Install as many grant files as you wish.
Universities. Grant Tracker is ideal for a Principal Investigator with several grants and a secretary who types the orders and keeps the books, or for a departmental administrator who manages many grants for many Principal Investigators.
Nonprofit Organizations. The flexibility of Grant Tracker lets the user easily modify the account names, and the names of the expense categories and subcategories to fit any type of grant. All of this is explained in the manual.
