| I had the privilege of adopting Marvin in early
February, 2001. I had won $50 on a frog-themed slot machine in
Reno and knew I had to adopt a frog with the winnings as soon as I got
home. Marvin is an Argus Reed frog (native to the African Arbuko-Sokoke
Forest) who's only 2" big. He smiles, sings
and jumps far distances despite his disability. For most of his life he
has been blind in one eye and can't hunt crickets by himself, so I feed
him beef baby food mixed with a calcium serum through a syringe every
other day. He has triumphed over many obstacles and constantly inspires
me. He makes me so proud to be his frogmom and I make sure he knows
that. I believe that Herbie and Scarlet, his frog angels who crossed
over, watch over him and keep him company.
Marvin has jumped into a special place in my heart. |
