I am the GIS & Map Librarian at Branner Earth Sciences Library at Stanford University. Currently, I'm working on topographic maps of Ethiopia. My coworkers include:
I used to work as the librarian of the David Rumsey collection. David and I spent over a year getting this web site up and running. It now has over 4,400 historic maps from all over the world. Here's one of my favorite images from the site. It's actually a little pocket globe in case you want to carry the world with you wherever you go.
While working for David, I was also working for another private map collector named Glen. He specialized in maps that show California as an island. This cartographic myth had a long life, from approximately 1622 until about 1745. Some of the maps were quite ornate, such as this one.
