Productions feature professional principal singers, directors, and designers, tenured orchestra and volunteer chorus. West Bay Opera rehearses and performs in Palo Alto. See also the Company home page.

About the Operas

Fall: La bohème (Puccini)

The opera was be conducted by Bryan Nies and directed by Jimmy Smith, both making West Bay Opera debuts. The opera will be sung in Italian.


Winter: Der Freischütz (von Weber)

General Director José Luis Moscovich will conduct; he last appeared as conductor for Orfeo ed Euridice last winter. Stage director will be Yuval Sharon (WBO debut). The opera will be sung in German

Spring: La traviata (Verdi)

The opera will be conducted by John Kendall Bailey and directed by Heather Matthews, both making West Bay Opera debuts. The opera will be sung in Italian.
