Science

I'm currently a PhD student at Stanford University's Hopkins Marine Station. The main focus of my research is cephalopod biology (octopus, squid, cuttlefish, etc). Specific interests include:

As an undergraduate intern at UCSB, I started an ecological modeling project on insect drift in streams, which is now being worked into a paper for publication. It also inspired a piece of children's fiction called Upstream/Downstream.

A complete account of my academic and research experience can be found in my cv.

Periodically I record various serious and/or whimsical thoughts on biology, academia, and general philosophy of science in the bioblog.
