from Letters to the Editor, Los Altos Town Crier, April 9, 1997:

Appreciates random act of kindness

I would like to share the following letter received by our school:

Dear Principal:

Enclosed is a check for $100.00 for the school library. I would like to have the money used to buy hardback books for the Blach School library. The donation is made in the name of my adult children, Kirsten Leute and Eric Leute, who both graduated from Blach School. We are grateful for the good foundation they received for their further education.

Sincerely yours,
Rosemary Leute

At this time of educational budget constraints, this is an extraordinary random act of kindness. Besides creating a lasting memorial to her children, Mrs. Leute will continue to benefit hundreds of children for years to come. Mrs. Leute, you are inspiration and have set a new standard for parenting that should not be overlooked. My own sons' elememtary schools will receive a check from me shortly.

Cindy Langley-Andrews,
Librarian,
Blach Intermediate School
Los Altos
