Chinese Data

Political Representation in China

The Provincial Representation score for a province in a given year is the number of members in the Central Committee (CC) that work for or are stationed in that province. The data series tracks the 15th and 16th Central Committees. Scores for 2002 follow the membership in the 15th CC as the transition to the 16th CC occurred late in the year (November 7 to November 15, 2002). The data series currently runs from 1997 to 2005. Please contact me if you are interested in replication or other use of the data.
