NEXT YEAR:
Me:
Be very careful next year in planning the route...about altitude per
mile traveled. 2k' in 22 miles can be a lot. Extrapolate from
there.
Powdered Tang in the water bottle makes a cheap alternative to
expensive drinks (Snapple, etc.)
Jog bra & supplex shorts in place of swim suit.
New tent.
Bandana for stove set; one also for tool kit.
Yellow pack towel which, since it inevitably flaps off the back of my
bike, would add just the extra bit of visibility.
Yellow/orange handlebag cover (urethane coated). Get goods from
Rainshed or Seattle Fabrics.
OR yellow #2 for food on the back of the bike. (done)
OR padded stove "bag" (red, #1)
OR padded water filter "bag" (#2)
New pannier rain covers. (1/2 completed; still need large ones for
back.)
Eagle Creek checkbook wallet (comes in blue)
OR - travel bag. Check and see if it is a better option that what I
already have.
New tube of Superglue.
V-brakes on bike. (done)
Next year, bar ends the curl around forward on the front for better
gripping and pulling.
12/32 cluster.
Original Leatherman (probably...check into Buck brand) - the one with
needlenose pliers.
Mosquito head net!
New stem which moves steering "moment" forward from headset/turning.
More stable steering with bars more forward of turning rather than
level (or behind). Talk to Mike about this.
Supplex Bermuda shorts (Columbia? Royal Robins?)
ThermoRest "pillow" case? (no)
Next year bring a red microfleece instead of a purple one for better
visibility on the road. Ann is nearly invisible on the road in her
purple gortex rain gear.
Nearly full sized lexan soup spoon (Done.)
One more Patagonia silk wt. l/s shirt (not white).
One more Early Winters CoolMax t-shirt (not green - have that) OR
LLBean CoolMax shirt (maybe). Or Patagonia (navy).
L/S cotton shirt - e.g. plaid/checked/chambray. (maybe)
Needle/thread (check and see if that's already part of my "10
Essentials, Plus" bag)
"Interesting" tea bags.
Some kind of "ThermoRest" pillow? (Probably not, but check it out at
REI.) (no)
Next year, buy or copy the ACA map instructions so that they are on
the same fold area as the route part of the map. ACA has done a
terrible job of designing this map for easy use!
