There is an increasing need for adaptation of broadband infrastructure to
wireless scenario. Mobile multimedia networks like the wireless ATM are
faced with the challenges relating to wireless channel access and user
mobility management..
In this work we propose and simulate policies vis-a-vis medium access
and handoffs in
wireless ATM networks. We also discuss the modelling of traffic
generators, evaluation of delay and buffer length bounds and
implementation of a WATM MAC simulator.
Following is the summary of targets achieved:
- Optimal Medium Access Protocol for Wireless ATM Networks
- Dynamic Resource Allocation with network-initiated Bandwidth
Renegotiation (DRABR) strategy for Providing Seamless Handovers in
Wireless
ATM Networks
