Introduction: Websnark

In August of 2004, a man named Eric A. Burns started a blog about webcomics. It was called Websnark. Since its inception, due to Mr. Burns's diligence, well-written prose, and insightful commentary, Websnark has grown to become an important and well-respected member of the webcomics community.

Mr. Burns writes on a fair variety of topics relevant to webcomics. He almost always uses a specific strip to base his commentary around, but from there he can discuss the ins and outs of the particular strip, how it relates to the run of the strip as a whole, use it as an example of a method of storytelling, and so on.

One concept that he has formulated is what he calls the "Cerebus Syndrome." What is "Cerebus Syndrome," you ask?

Well, I'll tell you.
