Reader/Author Enjoyment

This element is much less easily quantifiable than the others. It is difficult to discuss enjoyment in a rigorous way. However, enjoyment is almost always the most important part of any comic or comic strip element, including Cerebus Syndromes [G].

Generally, someone writes a strip because they enjoy it and/or they want their readers to enjoy it. The other elements that are discussed, such as consistent character development, are important because if they are absent it detracts from how much a reader is likely to enjoy the strip.

Ultimately, though, if there are readers who enjoy a strip, or if the author enjoys making the strip, then on some level that comic is successful, no matter how flawed it may be in other ways.
