Jamila Rufaro

I'm a native New Yorker with roots in Jamaica but my family and I enjoy life in sunny California. My son, Kahlil is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona and Jamaal attends Foothill College.

I work at Stanford University in the department of Residential Education as a Residence Dean. I also volunteer at Palo Alto Red Cross.

Check out my dance group The Stanford Soul Line Dancers! I love to dance, travel, read and do beadwork. I also make stained glass windows in my spare time and collect coins and stamps. I do henna tattoos for my friends and use Arabic calligraphy to make beautiful Islamic greeting cards and bookmarks that I sell to my friends.

I am presently researching my ancestry. I am looking for people named O'Connor, Evans, Debnam and Spraggins.

This quarter I am co-facilitating a section of Interpersonal Dynamics, nicknamed "touchy-feely" in the Graduate School of Business.
