Day job: Associate Director of Academic Computing at Stanford University and Head of Student Computing. Student Computing provides technology services for Stanford students through Residential Computing, public computing, central and distributed learning spaces, and multimedia and consulting services.

Also: Writer; author of the hypertext novel Figurski at Findhorn on Acid (Eastgate Systems, 2001, 2008), other electronic literature, short fiction, journalism, scholarship, and college textbooks.

Previously: Teacher; Lecturer in the Stanford writing program and English Department for 11 years, and Resident Fellow in a Stanford freshman dorm for 7 years. Also taught English and Creative Writing courses at Canada College (Redwood City, CA) and San Francisco State University.
