Short Bio

Hao Zou received his Bachelor of Science with Honors and Distinction, and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering in June 2008 and January 2009 from Stanford University, where he is currently a PhD and MBA/MA Candiate at the department of Electrical Engineering, the Graduate School of Business, and the department of Economics. He is an active contributor to many international telecommunications standards committees. His research interests include communication theory and its applications to wireless and wire-line systems. Zou was awarded the 2008 Marconi Society Young Scholar Award "for his outstanding research in data transmission and storage". He was also a recipient of the Frederick E. Terman Engineering Scholastic Award, the Stanford Deans’ Award for Academic Accomplishment, and the Stanford Firestone Medal for Excellence in Undergraduate Research. Zou is a Texas Instruments Stanford Graduate Fellow of Stanford University and currently serves as President of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society, Stanford Chapter (CA Gamma).
