Short films of Norma Talmadge

Norma Talmadge made scores of short films for Vitagraph, appearing as everything from leading ladies to extras in crowd scenes. Many of her appearances are undocumented, particularly in the period of 1910 and early 1911 before she was assigned to Van Dyke Brooke's unit. Most of her known short films are listed by Jack Spears at the end of his article on Norma Talmadge in Films in Review (January 1967), with more titles contributed in letters by Richard E. Braff (February 1967 and February 1972), Richard E. Teichert (February 1967) and Harold Dunham (March 1967). Her 1927 series of articles in Saturday Evening Post had photographs of Norma with Clara Kimball Young said to be from "The Mills of the Gods," but that scene is not from that film, at least it's not in the print at the EYE youTube channel; nor does either actress appear at all. She is also not in The Love of Chrysanthemum (1910), held at BFI. Cast listings are from Most American film index, 1908-1915 by Einar Lauritzen, and its index American Film Personnel and Company Credits, 1908-1920. I have noted which films are known to exist in archives or on video. Many more are likely to exist in private collections. If you know of more titles, please report them to Greta de Groat so that they may be included on this list. The films are arranged by release date.
