Skiing to Hilton Creek Lakes: Located just south of Little Lakes Valley in the John Muir Wilderness, Hilton Creek Lakes makes for a relatively moderate and beautiful destination in winter. |

Desolation Wilderness: Short weekend ski trip into Desolation Wilderness in the El Dorado National Forest. Beautiful weather the first day, I awoke to gusting winds and dumping snow the following day before skiing back to the car. |

Sphinx Lakes: This 3 day trip took me into the high country of Kings Canyon National Park. Sphinx Lakes Basin had been on my to do list for quite some time. It was a very interesting trip, with bear charging encounters, spectacular sunsets, great fishing, and not seeing a soul for 3 days. Sequoia/Kings Canyon Loop trip: Followed the High Sierra Trail to 9 Lakes Basin and after several failed attempts to get into Kaweah Basin, followed the HST down to the Kern River.
