Hi, I am a visiting scholar in the IVMS group led by Prof. Bernd Girod, from April to August 2008. The topic of my research project here is the extension of a concept for P2P distribution of live video (known as SPPM - Stanford Peer-to-Peer Multicast) for mobile devices.

During my time here I am on leave from my work at Ericsson Research in Aachen, Germany, where I lately have been working on topics in Mobile TV, IPTV, Digital Rights Management, and media transport. I have been involved in standardization for mobile multimedia services in the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) and have co-developed the OMA Digital Rights Management (DRM) 2.0 standard and the Mobile Broadcast 1.0 (BCAST) standard for Mobile TV. Besides my work at Ericsson, I am an adjunct professor at RWTH Aachen, Germany, since 2004.

I studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen, Germany, and NTNU Trondheim, Norway. I received a M.Sc. in EE from RWTH Aachen, and a PhD in telecommunications from University of Erlangen, Germany, in 1999. My PhD work was on watermarking of compressed video. A link to my publications list is in the left sidebar.

My stay is supported by a grant from the Marcus Wallenberg Foundation for Scientific Research and Education.
