  • Aug. 2007 - Dec. 2007 Microsoft Shopping Image Search Project, Microsoft Research Asia, Visual Computing Group
    • Developed algorithms for online Shopping Image Search and User Intention Learning as a visit student in Visual Computing Group, Microsoft Research Asia.
    • Implemented the algorithm module and tested it in the whole online shopping system.
    • Collaborated with researcher from Microsoft adCenter at Redmond, Seattle, to iterate the algorithm design.

  • Dec. 2006 - June 2008 Content-based 3D Object Retrieval, Tsinghua University
  • Mar. 2005 - Jul. 2005 Video and Audio Transcoder for Embedded Systems on DSP,  Tsinghua University
    • Designed the transcoding system framework as well as the modules of it.
    • Implemented efficient audio transcoder from MP2 to AAC on DSP TMS320C6416.
  • Oct. 2004 - May 2005 Efficient Video Encoding Based on Block-split Prediction, Tsinghua University
    • Surveyed extensive methods on video compression and transmission.
    • Implemented algorithm to improve motion prediction for efficient video encoding.
    • Published a paper on 2006 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing.
  • Jul. 2004 - Aug. 2004 Parser and Analyzer for Advanced H.264 Video Bit stream, Tsinghua University, Tsinghua University
    • Designed mechanism to parse and analyze H.264 bit stream based on open source project JM.
    • Developed software that has become a common tool for lab mates to do research on H.264 codec.
  • Jun. 2004 - Aug. 2004 Surveillance and Control System, Waterborne Transportation Institute, Ministry of Transportations, China
    • Implemented real-time surveillance system of Automatic Line of Coal Tipplers, which is now in use at several docks of Qinhuangdao sea port.
    • Enhanced working condition of the workers greatly by remote surveillance and control.
  • Sep. 2004 - Nec. 2004 Electronic Design Contest, Tsinghua University
    • Cooperated with students from various backgrounds including software, hardware, and design.
