NACLO 2012

What is NACLO?

NACLO stands for the North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad. It is a contest for high-school (and younger) students to solve problems relating to linguistics and computational linguistics. No advanced knowledge of linguistics is required. Students may participate at their high school or at a nearby university site. This year, Stanford University will be a local site. The open round of the contest will take place on Thursday, February 2, from 9am to 12pm. We ask that students arrive by 8:30am on the day of the contest. The location of the open round will be held in the Center for Clinical Science Research (CCSR), room 4205 (located on the Medical School Campus). Students who perform well in the first round will be invited back for a second round, to take place on Tuesday, March 13. The top students in the second round will have a chance to participate in the 9th International Linguistics Olympiad in Slovenia. More information about NACLO can be found at the official site.
