Bay Area Amateur Astronomy Organization Peninsula Astronomical Society (PAS) is a Bay Area amateur astronomy group. PAS has numerous fun events throughout the year. Dues for joining are $20.00 a year. Application forms and PAS information sheet can be received by writing to:
PO Box 4542 Mountain View, CA 94040 PAS meets every clear Friday evening at the Foothill College Observatory. Use of the observatory is free, but you must pay a $2.00 Foothill College parking fee. University of California Observatories/Lick Observatory One of the Bay Areas best kept secrets is Lick Observatory located 19 miles southeast of San Jose. The Observatory has "The Summer Vistors Program" that offers free viewing through both the 36-inch refracting telescope and 40-inch reflecting telescope. In addition, the Observatory offers its benefit concert series, "Music of the Spheres." General information on the observatory can be located at UCO/Lick Observatory page.
