Relationship of learner type to CALL environment; value of training

Background: 

Research question:  What learner types are best suited for a CALL/online learning environment? Is there a correlation between learner ability and/or learning style and attitude towards a particular CALL/online learning environment or learning task?

Does learner training in a particular CALL/online learning environment make a difference?

What CALL/online learning tasks do learners prefer? What learning tasks do they perceive most valuable?  What are the characteristics of such learning tasks?
