Homework:

1) Do FlashACE Advanced 1: www.stanford.edu/dept/lc/efs/FlashACE/. Try listening first and then looking at the images by sliding the window down so that only the playback part shows. .

2) Explore CNN Student News: spend at least 30 minutes on the site, looking at what it has and trying to listen to some of the stories. Take notes and bring them to class so you can discuss your experiences. You should focus on how you can use this site to

• get general English listening practice to improve ability to get meaning
• learn about current events from a US perspective
• build vocabulary
• improve processing.
