Grammatical Gender

Languages mark gender grammatically in a variety of ways. Pronouns, noun classes, adjectives, and verb inflections quite commonly reflect the sex category of subjects and objects in a sentence. Today's class will discuss some of the diversity of gender marking in grammar, and then will focus on the issue of feminist language engineering.
