Guidelines for Film Responses
Films will be on reserve at Meyer Media
for individual viewing. In addition,
we will arrange group screenings
at set times during the week. Required films
will be shown first, with any recommended
films following.
Your film responses can be handwritten
or printed, and they should not exceed two
pages. Please submit them
on the day the film is assigned on the syllabus, unless
otherwise noted (in section for
some films).
Your written response should include
(not necessarily in this order):

How the film illuminated and/or complicated
issues raised in lectures
and readings;

What you thought or felt while you
watched the film, and after you
thought about it;

What you thought the filmmaker was
trying to communicate, and
whether they do so effectively;

What questions the film raised for
your that you hope to discuss in
section.
