Lamborghini Miura Restoration Log

Week 31, 01 October 2007

Restoration, Week 31: The block is finished and back from the machine shop, and assembly of the bottom end will begin soon. The new Carrillo connecting rods have arrived, and the heads are very nearly finished as well. The brake components are refinished and the calipers have been reassembled.

New connecting rods.

More of the rods.

Surprisingly different architecture between the new (left) and old (right) connecting rods: I-beam vs. H-beam.

New pistons.

Torque plate.

Timeserts.

The block back on the stand ready for assembly.

I just noticed this trip that the door panel also bears the original body number (614).

Stripped seats

Crusty old carburetors will be restored but not installed on the car. We plan to use PMO's.
