11 April 2007: Restoration, Week 6: Bodywork assessment deferrred to next week. New radiator back, interior disassembly
and wiring removal complete. New reproduction wiring harness with correct color coding and connectors on order. Bottom end disassembly complete with
engine parts now at machine shop. Gas tank cleaned and ready for assessment as to whether it needs to be replaced with an aluminum unit. New JE pistons on
order, gauges sent out to Palo Alto Speedometer for repair and restoration. Exhaust sent out for ceramic coating.
The exhaust before it left.
The old wiring harness.
The first "new" part of the restoration!! A fairly monumental radiator then. It is of the dimpled type to enhance cooling. The dimples serve to reduce water velocity to enhance heat transfer.
I took this picture by holding the camera above my head, if you couldn't tell.
