Churchill College

Churchill was founded fairly recently (circa 1960) by Cambridge standards, hence the modern architecture and random pieces of modern sculpture littering the grounds. This also means that this particular residential college is a bit further out from the city center, which is good for students who prefer not to have to wade through tourists but bad for students whose departments (and classes) are in the city center....

These photos were taken in November; the sun is getting low here at about 3:30 pm or so. I am standing fairly close to my staircase, which is a three-story affair with eight largish single rooms, a kitchen, two toilets, a shower and a bathtub.
