D&D Links
The Great Net.Book Archive
Huge lists of more spells, character classes, monsters, magic items, ways to run spells and goodness knows how many other custom rule sets, etc., etc.
iG Tools
All kinds of on-line tools for designing and running campaigns. Notable are the large number of generators; you can generate calendars, weather forecasts, more weather forecasts, world maps, islands, cross-country maps, cities, villages, taverns, clearings ("We stop for the night." OK, where will the random encounter take place. . . .), caverns, dungeons, and item descriptions, among other things.
a general anime page: for newcomers and otaku alike!
Bubblegum Crisis
Four young women in incredibly advanced personal body armor blowing up lots of bad guys. Good, standard anime. :)
Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water
VERY loosely based on _20,000 Leagues Under the Sea_. In fact, it has almost nothing to do with the novel except the name of the sub and the captain, really. As long as you don't expect it to follow the book, though, it tells an entertaining enough story in its own right.
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Impressive movie, though the lilting little dream-sequence song is possibly the single most irritatingly infectious (i.e. I can't get this #$@$#@! song out of my head) piece of music in the known universe. . . .
Tenchi Muyo!
The first anime series I saw, and quite possibly one of the most fun (at least the first 6 OAVs) I've seen.
Classical MIDI Archives
Wow. Lots and *lots* of classical MIDI sound files.
The Classical MIDI Connection
Not quite as many MIDIs as the Archives, but still a lot, and sorted by period.
Crescendo by LiveUpdate!
The plugin I use at this site for playing MIDI music embedded in a web page. Highly recommended.
The Daily .WAV
A great place to find sound clips from your favorite movies and TV shows; this place also takes requests. Ideal if you need wacky startup and shutdown sounds :).
RealAudio
Get high-quality sound over the Internet in realtime. I've heard that the Plus version of this software (the stuff you pay for) is simply amazing, but the free version (this link) ain't half bad.
Web Page Tools I Use
I have managed to pay a grand total of $0 to create and maintain these web pages. This is possible through the use of online resources, some of which I have listed here:
Beginner's Guide to HTML
Perhaps the best learning tool, guide, and reference online that I have found. Highly recommended.
Doctor HTML
A great online utility for checking up your HTML code, and making sure that all of your links work. Free for single pages. Again, highly recommended.
Geocities
The former site of my homepage. A good place to get a free homepage, plus for members they have their own resource guide page.
The HTML Writer's Guild
No, you don't have to be a professional or an expert to join, and they have incredible resources for their members, from newbies to high-powered Web designers, only one of which is their list of useful URLs.
The Geek Zone
In case the Myers-Briggs (below) doesn't characterize you specifically enough, Robert Hayden has invented an arcane little code that lets you describe yourself -- assuming that computers and other "geeky" pursuits can at least partially characterize you. If you must know, here is my geek code.
Housernet
A personal homepage directory. Have fun!
Microsoft Software Library
In case you need more Microsoft stuff on your computer.
Myers-Briggs Personality Test
A fun little psychological test. Incidentally, I'm an INTJ.
Quotation Page
Because you can never have too many quotations.
The Student Homepage Directory
Just what it sounds like; find the Web presences of your fellow students.
The Thistle and Shamrock
The home page for a really great program of Celtic music aired on National Public Radio. Surf on over to find out more about it, and where you can hear it. The show is almost worth listening to merely for the wondrous Scottish accent of Fiona Ritchie, the show's host, but the music is truly superb and often relaxing.
Vanderbilt University
Yea! Go Commodores! Also, someone with far too much free time put together a pretty cool photo tour of the Vanderbilt campus. Worth a look.
A Welsh Course
A fun introductory course to Welsh. Random enough for you? :)
World Alumni Net
You can register here for whatever high school and/or college you graduated from so that all your old friends can look you up and taunt you mercilessly with the fact that they are making *far* more money than you. Er... or something like that :)
World Birthday Web
Want to see whose birthday is today? (Hint: it's a lot. And those are just the folks who have registered....) Send a few random birthday greetings, or sign up and get some random birthday greetings on your birthday....
