Daniel McFarland
(dmcfarla@stanford.edu) is associate professor of education at Stanford University, specializing in social dynamics. In particular, he focuses on cresive moments that order and transform classroom interactions, peer relations, student careers, and membership affiliations, and in turn, how these organizational dynamics influence key educational outcomes. McFarland teaches graduate level courses in social networks, social theory, and organizations, and he has been central to the development of dynamic network visualization tools. He is currently engaged in several projects concerning the co-evolution of social networks and cultural systems. Dan is also an associate professor of sociology and organizational behavior (by courtesy) at Stanford.
